New Title

During my aunt's stay, she purchased software for our computer (my parents take forever in doing things like this- we got the computer for Christmas!) so I am pleased to finally have Windows and Photoshop Elements 6 on our computer! I had fun making my new blog title above. I made it all from scratch myself...yay me! Now we just need a printer and a scanner...sigh!

Washington!

It's a long story, but I have to fly back home to Washington this week! Forever ago I was injured working at BB&B (a box fell on my head- I must have a magnet!) and I still have problems a year and a half later, so they're flying me back at L&I's expense to have an independant medical exam. I'm hoping to see my friends, but the thought of putting 12 hours of airplane time(not including layovers!) in three days does not thrill me. I'll be up in Renton, thankfully away from where I lived- it would be too hard to be anywhere familiar.

I'll let you know how everything goes. I have to go be a grown up!

What'cha been up to?

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile- I've been a hermit lately! Since school's been out I've home most of the time (we don't have internet yet). We've been getting ready for my Auntie Marcie to come from San Francisco...she comes tomorrow!

I've also:
  • Pounded nails into platforms made for girl's camp tents (service project for the YSA)

Sorry this picture is sideways!

  • Fed my dogs treats

tilt your head, sorry!

  • Attended an Amish auction

  • Had dirt delivered for our garden

  • put in posts for the fenced dog yard we are building

  • bought our first (working) riding lawn mower

  • watched a family of robins grow up

  • and the highlight....unloaded a truckload of manure (for the garden we're building)

Nothing too exciting, mostly stuff around here.

Re-do

I recently ripped apart what I had put together years ago for a MTC scrapbook. Awhile ago I realized that I had to talk far too much when showing people my pictures- it was devoid of journaling! I got to looking at it more objectively and realized that it didn't tell my story well at all- no titles, journaling and the pictures were grouped together strangely. There were lots of redundant photos as well. I had made a lot of poor decisions while putting it together in the wee hours of the morning! So I've got plans for a new and improved book...thankfully I didn't get too far scrapbooking the rest of my mission- some tweaks are needed there too. I saved the stuff I had used (mostly cardstock) so I can re-use a lot of it. Now that it's been a few years since the mission, I have a better idea of what was important and what stories need to be told. Wish me luck!
