I'm trying to get photographs ready for two upcoming shows...I have a deadline today for the Edinboro Spring Student Show- they have a good juror for it and you can win stuff and everything. The other deadline coming up is for the Erie Art Museum's Spring show- it has Dave Hickey as the juror, who is a well known art critic. There are also prizes available as well, so it's worth a shot. I haven't promoted myself for some time as the move basically took up all of 2007. Last night I was trying to get my prints and mats in the frames that I bought only to discover that my frames are too shallow for that bulk and the backs won't go back on! I'll have to go from school to Erie (15 miles) and return them- I don't know what I'll be able to do with the two that I opened! Then I'll have to drive BACK to school and get them ready and turn them in.
It's been a challenge to decide what to enter- how good is my stuff? What is the judge like? What are other people entering? Which photos go to which show? Will people want to purchase my work? Do I enter old stuff or more current? Is the new stuff as good as what I did in photography classes? I'm really not looking for a compliment, these are the ramblings of my mind.
